Spooktacular

BOOOO!!!!
It's near the end of October which means halloween is just around the corner! A classic halloween tradition is carving pumpkins. Carving pumpkins is one of those things that all ages can partake in, with mom's help of course. Carving a pumpkin is quite simple as long as you have the right tools.

What you need:
  • Stencil-if your drawing skills are lacking.
  • Pencil or pen-to trace your image on the pumpkin.
  • Large pumpkin.
  • Knife-to cut out your decal.
  • Big spoon-to scoop out the guts.
  • Bowl-to put the pumpkin guts in.
Now I'm sure most of us have been carving pumpkins since we were youngsters so I wont explain step by step how to do it. However here are a few great pumpkin stencil ideas:

Here are my pumpkins:

Some tips when it comes to carving your pumpkin:
  • Cut the lid on a 45 degree angle, so the top of the pumpkin won't fall in.
  • Clean out the pumpkin fully.
  • Carve it only a few days before halloween.
  • Keep the carved pumpkin in a cool area.
And don't forget to keep those pumpkin seeds, they make a tasty snack.
