For the Butter Lovers

I know you're out there butter lovers. If you're like me, the succulent and creamy taste of that deliciously churned cream is hard to resist eating right off the stick. The rest of you may find this a bit repulsing, or perhaps you are too embarrassed to reveal your secret love of butter. But how could you not love this delightful dairy product? Think about it, almost all tasty treats use butter; from your Grandma's infamous cookies to those melt-in-your-mouth cinnamon buns from your local bakery. In my opinion when butter is involved food is bound to be delicious.

While surfing the web I almost melted when I stumbled across this recipe- pun intended. The concept of the recipe is simple. Take butter, something that is simply delicious by itself, and add other simply delicious ingredients to make it even better. The recipe is called Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter and it is quick and easy to make.

You will need:

1 stick of unsalted butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp ground cinnamon

First, I whipped the butter. Make sure the butter is soft otherwise it may be a little difficult to whip. The recipe calls to do this by using a whisk attachment, however to use the whisk attachment one should have a mixer to attach it to, which I do not. So I did it the old fashion way by hand. Yes, my arm was sore by the end. Next mix in the honey, sugar, and cinnamon and keep mixing until it is fluffy. Then it's done! How simple is that?

If you ask me nothing can replace the smooth natural goodness of butter. Not even margarine. Does anyone actually know what margarine actually is? All I know is that it is smooth, oily and tasteless, but that is beside the point. It seems a little bit of butter can bring friends and family together, whether it's hovering over kitchen counters to make a batch of cookies or sitting around the table for breakfast toast with some cinnamon butter. It's in these times that we need to take a moment to enjoy making good food and good memories because really those are the two most important things in life.
